bulletJOE SUSPECT'S NEW CD NOW AVAILABLE!!

Joe Suspects new CD, entitled Cheating The Cheaters, is now available to the public. In a press conference earlier this month, Hurricane Records Ltd. announced the new release by Joe Suspect; the disc contains 12 tracks. A spokesman from Hurricane Records said, “We’re pretty excited about the new CD. We think “Cheating the Cheaters“ sounds great!!”

The new disc by Joe Suspect is more “rock & roll” then the band’s first release, “Bullet Holes in the Exit Signs.” “Yeah, we put some more of the rockers on this one,” says Jersey Joe, sax man for the band, “we even have some hip swing stuff on the disc too…it’s great!” The new CD does have an eclectic compilation of songs from rock, to blues-rock, to swing and more.

Also included on ‘Cheaters’ is a classic “Boardwalk” style soul song featuring guest vocalist James Mickens. “James adds a soulful touch to a song that captures hanging out on the beach all summer long,” adds Joe, “he really makes the song sound great.” The new Joe Suspect CD is now available via the band’s website. bulletCOMMENTARY by Ralph Copperfield

Joe Suspect’s new CD is finally available to the public. It may have taken a while to get it out but it was well worth the wait. I’ve been listening to it a lot and I really like the songwriting and the musicianship on it. And this CD has everything on it; from some good old rockers, via blues-rock, to swing, to classic soul, and even a Cajun groove on it. Every song seems to have it’s own groove---great job rhythm section.

Listen to All She’s Gotta Do, the opening track on 'Cheaters', the rhythm section is kicking and the horns sound fat. And the 12 string and the accordion make Where Are You Lucille come alive. The song has that Tex-Mex-Joe Ely flavor to it. The solo guitar work throughout the disc is just incredible, as well as all the horn solo work. And I can’t say enough about what a great job the rhythm section did throughout all the songs.

Special guest vocalist James Mickens just lays it down on My Boardwalk Girl. The song captures the classic soul feel that the Drifters would be proud of. The song brings me right back to the Jersey shore when I was a kid.

And Dead-End Street, man, talk about putting the groove in your face! This is some old fashion roadhouse music makes you just sit down and do some drinking---and we’re talking some hard whiskey here folks. Roadhouse Band has the same flavor to it, with some fat horns that just sit on the beat. And roadhouse music is one of my favorite kind of music---Viva Delbert McClinton!

Joe Suspect’s new CD 'Cheating the Cheaters' is filled with straight-ahead honest music that has every-thing you’ll ever need on a Friday night: sex, drinking, attitude and some cool toe-tapping grooves. Yes sir, it was well worth the wait. See you at the next parole hearings! J (Top)

bulletLETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Dear Mugshot,

I just got Joe Suspect’s new CD. It’s cool. My question is this; how come I never hear Joe Suspect on the radio? They’re as good, or better, then the bands I hear now.

Rick Ricci
Cherry Hills, NJ

Rick, thanks for your support. We agree with you. We feel Joe Suspect’s music can stand next to anyone’s. The music/radio business is a hard one to crack. The band’s management, along with Hurricane Records, is doing everything within their means to get Joe Suspect’s music out there. With support from fans like you maybe someday the band will get the radio airplay we feel it deserves.

Dear Mugshot,

I like the new Joe Suspect CD. Any chance the band will be touring in my area soon?
